Technical Manager
Job description
An established food manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Technical Manager to lead site technical, quality, and hygiene functions.
This is a senior, hands-on role with responsibility for ensuring products are manufactured safely, legally, and to the highest quality standards, while maintaining full compliance with BRCGS, HACCP, and customer requirements.
The role will involve:

Leading all site technical, QA, and hygiene activities

Maintaining and continuously improving the Quality Management System and HACCP plans

Leading internal, customer, and third-party audits (including BRCGS and retailer audits)

Managing customer complaints, non-conformances, and corrective actions
-
Overseeing hygiene operations, allergen controls, and environmental monitoring
-
Acting as the main technical contact for customers, auditors, and suppliers
-
Managing, developing, and motivating QA and hygiene teams

Driving a strong food safety culture and ensuring audit readiness at all times
About you:

Strong working knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP, and food safety systems

Proven experience in a technical or hygiene management role within food manufacturing

Confident leader with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Detail-focused, organised, and proactive in continuous improvement

Degree in Food Science / Food Technology (or equivalent) preferred
-
HACCP Level 4, Food Safety Level 4, and audit experience advantageous
