Technical Manager

An established food manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Technical Manager to lead site technical, quality, and hygiene functions.

This is a senior, hands-on role with responsibility for ensuring products are manufactured safely, legally, and to the highest quality standards, while maintaining full compliance with BRCGS, HACCP, and customer requirements.

The role will involve:

  • Leading all site technical, QA, and hygiene activities

  • Maintaining and continuously improving the Quality Management System and HACCP plans

  • Leading internal, customer, and third-party audits (including BRCGS and retailer audits)

  • Managing customer complaints, non-conformances, and corrective actions

  • Overseeing hygiene operations, allergen controls, and environmental monitoring

  • Acting as the main technical contact for customers, auditors, and suppliers

  • Managing, developing, and motivating QA and hygiene teams

  • Driving a strong food safety culture and ensuring audit readiness at all times

About you:

  • Strong working knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP, and food safety systems

  • Proven experience in a technical or hygiene management role within food manufacturing

  • Confident leader with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Detail-focused, organised, and proactive in continuous improvement

  • Degree in Food Science / Food Technology (or equivalent) preferred

  • HACCP Level 4, Food Safety Level 4, and audit experience advantageous
