Technical Manager

Join a passionate team in Devon driving food quality and safety across the UK! I am looking for an experienced Technical Manager to support my client's Senior Technical Manager in leading supplier and customer relationships, overseeing audits, managing product compliance, and promoting a strong food safety culture.

The role:

• Approve new products and verify specifications
• Lead and coordinate BRC and customer audit preparation
• Manage day-to-day technical queries from customers and suppliers
• Conduct supplier audits, performance reviews, and approvals
• Ensure legal and artwork compliance for all products
• Manage technical projects and sample testing
• Handle customer complaints and investigate root causes
• Liaise with enforcement bodies and legal consultants

What I am looking for:

• Degree in Food Science, Technology, Nutrition, or related field
• Strong knowledge of food safety, legality, quality, and authenticity
• Confident in customer-facing and supplier liaison roles
• Experience with BRC, HACCP, VACCP/TACCP, SEDEX, and artwork reviews
• Organised, detail-focused, and confident under pressure

The role:

• Monday – Friday (Hybrid)
• Salary up to £50,000 DOE
