Technical Manager

My client, a well-established leader in the food manufacturing sector based in Berkshire is seeking an experienced Technical Manager to oversee technical operations, drive product quality, and ensure food safety compliance across the site. This is a critical, customer-facing role offering the opportunity to contribute to the technical strategy, support key accounts, and foster a strong food safety culture.

The Opportunity:

• Salary circa £60,000.
• Monday – Friday (Hybrid)

Responsibilities:

• Lead the technical department ensuring compliance with food safety standards, legislation, and customer requirements.
• Be a key technical contact for major customers and suppliers, supporting audits, specifications, and new business on boarding.
• Drive continuous improvement of food safety culture.
• Oversee non-conformance management, complaints, and cost control initiatives.

About You:

• Degree qualified in Food Science or experience working within the chilled food manufacturing industry at management level.
• HACCP and Food Safety Trained.
• Strong knowledge of food legislation, supplier approval, audits, and quality processes.
• Confident working directly with major customers and building technical relationships.
