Location: Hybrid – Kent/London

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

 

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Regulatory Affairs Specialist to join a growing and collaborative quality team within an international ingredients and nutrition solutions business. The successful candidate will provide regulatory expertise across food, feed and supplement activities, supporting compliance across the UK, EU and international markets. The role will involve reviewing regulatory requirements, advising internal stakeholders, and liaising with regulatory bodies and industry organisations to ensure products meet relevant legislation. This position also plays a key role in supporting wider company compliance initiatives and providing regulatory guidance across the organisation.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure regulatory compliance relating to food and feed safety, quality and defence in line with UK, EU and GFSI standards (including BRC), Organic, Halal, FAMI-QS and Kosher requirements.

• Monitor changes in legislation and regulatory frameworks, assessing potential business impact and updating internal compliance procedures.

• Support regulatory strategies for existing and new ingredients/products across UK and EU markets.

• Provide regulatory guidance relating to allergens, REACH, Novel Foods, food contact materials, packaging, food law and labelling, feed regulations, residues and contaminants, and botanical ingredients.

• Conduct detailed regulatory reviews including novel food status, product application compliance, claims and labelling requirements.

• Liaise with regulatory authorities, consultants and industry bodies regarding authorisations and licences.

• Support development and maintenance of product specifications ensuring compliance with EU and UK regulations.

• Deliver regulatory training and guidance to quality, technical, commercial and marketing teams.

• Provide regulatory verification for product compliance supporting commercial and marketing teams.

• Assist with incident management and crisis response activities when regulatory input is required.

• Support wider quality department activities based on workload and priorities.

 

Candidate Profile

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.

• Confident, proactive and able to work independently.

• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.

• Ability to identify regulatory risks and develop practical solutions.

 

Experience & Qualifications

• Approximately 5+ years’ experience in a regulatory or technical role within food, feed ingredients, nutritional supplements, fine chemicals, pharmaceutical ingredients or chemical distribution.

• Strong understanding of UK and EU food and feed regulatory frameworks.

• Experience working with cross-functional teams.

• Business-level English proficiency required.
