NPD Developer

The Opportunity
An established UK food manufacturer is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated NPD Developer to join its New Product Development function within a fast-paced FMCG environment. This role represents an excellent early-career opportunity for an individual with an academic background in Food Science, Nutrition, or a related discipline, or with up to one year of experience in food manufacturing.

The successful candidate will gain hands-on exposure to the full product lifecycle, from initial concept through to commercial launch, working closely with experienced NPD professionals, chefs, suppliers, and technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting NPD Managers throughout the end-to-end product development process

• Assisting with the preparation and completion of customer-facing documentation, including submission forms and product data

• Participating in product tastings, trials, and supplier visits

• Contributing to internal and external meetings, with progression towards supporting customer presentations

• Working cross-functionally with technical, supply chain, and culinary teams

• Developing an understanding of how new food products are taken from concept to launch in a commercial setting

Candidate Profile

• Degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or a closely related subject, or equivalent industry experience

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

• Demonstrated interest in food innovation and product development within FMCG

• Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams

• Willingness to learn and develop within a structured NPD environment

• Full UK driving licence and access to a car are essential, due to site location and the requirement to attend supplier visits
