Hygiene Manager

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Hygiene Manager to lead site hygiene, cleaning operations, and facilities services within a food manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining effective hygiene systems, managing cleaning schedules, overseeing contractors, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards, including BRC and customer requirements. You will lead and develop a hygiene team, manage audits and documentation, and drive continuous improvement across hygiene, waste management, and site services.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing site hygiene and environmental cleaning programmes
  • Leading and developing a hygiene team
  • Overseeing cleaning validation, audits, and compliance documentation
  • Managing contractors (cleaning, pest control, waste, laundry, facilities)
  • Ensuring facilities are maintained to high hygiene and safety standards

Key requirements:

  • Proven experience in a hygiene or facilities management role within food manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene standards, and BRC
  • Confident people management and organisational skills
  • Relevant food safety, HACCP, and COSHH training
