Our client is a well-established food manufacturing business supplying major UK retailers and is looking to recruit a Junior Technical & Development Assistant to support their Technical and Development team.

This role is ideal for a graduate or someone at the early stages of their career who has a genuine interest in food and wants to gain practical experience within food manufacturing and product development.

You will support the team by preparing and cooking product samples, helping organise samples for customers, and arranging courier collections. You will also assist with customer presentations, support the completion of product specifications, and help with basic cooking validations and recipe development activities.

Other duties will include producing simple reports for benchmarking, managing stock of development samples, and supporting communication with suppliers and internal teams.

The ideal candidate will be organised, reliable, and comfortable using spreadsheets and computer systems. You will have a positive attitude, be keen to learn, and enjoy working as part of a small, supportive team.

A food or science-related degree would be beneficial but is not essential. Any previous experience in a food manufacturing or NPD environment would be an advantage, though full training will be provided.

This role suits someone who enjoys practical work, pays close attention to detail, and can work accurately to deadlines.

The role offers a salary between £24,000 and £26,000 depending on experience, with working hours of 08:30 to 17:00, Monday to Friday.
