Technical Auditor
Job description
An established and reputable food manufacturing business is seeking a diligent Technical Auditor to join its Technical Team. Reporting to the Technical Manager, this role supports the delivery and maintenance of food safety and quality standards across the site.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring compliance with customer, company, and industry requirements, driving high standards of food safety culture and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily compliance and quality checks across all production areas.
- Perform scheduled internal audits covering GMP, hygiene, glass and hard plastic, maintenance, documentation, and site standards.
- Collect and monitor product, environmental, and hygiene samples, ensuring results are reviewed, recorded, and trended.
- Verify and calibrate site thermometers, probes, and temperature monitoring systems.
- Maintain and organise technical and quality documentation for audit readiness.
- Support pre-operational hygiene checks and ensure compliance with site cleaning standards.
- Assist with supplier approvals, traceability exercises, and management of customer complaints.
- Participate in internal, customer, and third-party audits, ensuring non-conformances are closed out promptly.
- Promote and uphold food safety and quality awareness across all departments.
About You
- Previous experience in a technical, QA, or auditing role within the food manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of HACCP, BRCGS, and food safety management systems.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisational, and communication skills.
- Confident working both independently and collaboratively within production environments.
- Computer literate with good administrative and record-keeping ability.
