About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented QA Auditor to join our Quality Assurance team in Rotherham. In this role, you’ll play a crucial part in ensuring our products meet stringent food safety, quality, and compliance standards. You’ll support internal audits, process controls, product evaluation, and laboratory testing, helping to maintain the highest standards across all areas of production.

Key Responsibilities

Quality & Compliance

  • Work with the Quality Management System, ensuring documentation is accurate and up-to-date.

  • Manage and close out corrective and preventative actions (CAPAs).

  • Ensure any deviations from product specifications are recorded and escalated.

Process & Product Controls

  • Conduct independent process checks across departments.

  • Organize and lead sensory (taste panel) assessments.

  • Ensure shelf-life testing and organoleptic evaluations are carried out in line with schedules.

  • Coordinate the positive release of critical raw materials and packaging.

Internal Audits

  • Support site preparation and execution during customer and third-party audits.

  • Conduct regular GMP, CCP, foreign body, glass/plastic, and system audits.

  • Ensure all audits are documented, reported, and followed up with relevant actions.

Food Safety

  • Understand and apply site HACCP and allergen control procedures.

  • Train team members on Critical Control Points (CCPs) and assess competency.

  • Proactively identify and address food safety risks.

Laboratory Testing

  • Manage sampling and testing schedules for microbiological, nutritional, allergen, and environmental swabbing.

  • Record and report results appropriately.

Pest Control

  • Monitor pest activity on site and work with hygiene teams to address risks.

Communication & Training

  • Communicate effectively across all departments.

  • Mentor team members and support QA training initiatives.

  • Present technical KPIs in daily meetings when required.

Customer & Regulatory Standards

  • Ensure compliance with relevant customer and industry standards (e.g., BRCGS).

  • Assist in investigations into customer complaints and support root cause analysis.

 

What We’re Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in QA or food manufacturing environments.

  • Working knowledge of food safety systems (e.g., HACCP, GMP, CCP).

  • Strong documentation and organizational skills.

  • Ability to communicate clearly across all levels of the business.

  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.

  • Competent with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).

Desirable:

  • Understanding of lab testing procedures.

  • Previous experience supporting third-party or customer audits.
