LOCATION: Southampton
REPORTS TO: Branch Manager / Department Manager
SENIOR SALES EXECUTIVE
ROLE
Purpose
To undertake day to day procurement and sales of fresh produce within an existing client base and further develop profitable business.
The successful candidate must have experience of a sales role within the fresh produce industry, and a proven track record of improving and developing the sales pipeline.
Key Responsibilities:
- To establish, maintain and develop relationships with existing and new suppliers
- To identify and develop new sales opportunities
- To maximize sales and profit margins
- Regular involvement in stock controls
- To work closely with the Department Manager to develop opportunities within the region
- Ensure the best customer service is always delivered
- To assist to pick / assemble specific customers’ orders when applicable (average weight of a package 10 kilos)
- Liaison with sales, procurement, and operations employees at the warehouse depot
- Liaison with group H&S and technical teams
- Co-ordination with Dept Managers /Branch Manager
- Close working relationships are to be developed with existing and new customers
- Close working relationships are to be developed with key suppliers
CANDIDATE
- Successful track record within a fast-moving wholesale or retail environment with fresh produce experience
- Commercial industry knowledge
- Customer focussed
- Profit orientated, cost conscious
- Strong influencing skills
- Performance Management focus
- IT literate
CONDITIONS
- Remuneration: £35-£50K Dependent upon candidate experience
- Core hours: 42.5 hours per week Mon-Fri, across 5 days, with some Saturday working
- Pension: Defined Contribution, after successful probation period, 3% Employer and 5% Employee
- Bonus: Discretionary
- Annual leave: 25 days + bank holidays
- Probation period: 3 months
- Notice period: 1 month
