Job Title: Quality Manager
Location: West Sussex
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 DOE
Reporting to: Technical Manager


Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead and maintain a compliant, efficient, and continuously improving quality management system within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role is responsible for driving food safety, compliance, and operational excellence, while fostering a strong culture of quality and accountability across all departments.

The successful candidate will work cross-functionally to embed best practice, streamline processes, and support business growth through structured continuous improvement initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate all certification and external audit activity to maintain compliance

  • Develop and deliver structured internal audit programmes to verify regulatory and customer adherence

  • Oversee the daily operation of the technical function to ensure priorities and timelines are achieved

  • Maintain and enhance the site quality framework in line with recognised industry standards

  • Ensure effective investigation and closure of deviations and non-conformances

  • Strengthen team capability by embedding accountability for quality across departments

  • Lead food safety governance through management and review of HACCP systems

  • Work with department leaders to implement targeted efficiency and improvement initiatives

  • Represent the organisation during site visits and stakeholder engagements

  • Identify and lead cost reduction projects without compromising compliance

  • Streamline operational processes to remove waste and improve productivity

  • Chair performance review meetings and convert KPI data into actionable plans

  • Support senior leadership in delivering operational performance targets

  • Provide technical support to customer-facing teams when required

  • Oversee complaint investigations to ensure accurate and timely resolution

  • Maintain clear and professional communication with customers until closure

  • Contribute to quality approval processes for new product launches

  • Monitor and audit preventative maintenance programmes

  • Champion a proactive culture of food safety and health & safety across the site
