Somerset

£40,000–£45,000 + benefits

Job Description:

  • Own the QA strategy and shape the future of food safety in a market-leading business.
  • You’ll lead a small QA team and play a key part in shifting the company towards a more collaborative food safety culture. This is your chance to influence systems, drive improvements, and work closely with the Technical Manager, while developing your leadership skills.
  • There’s a bonus of up to 10%, a generous pension, private medical and dental cover, and five weeks’ annual leave to give you peace of mind and a proper work-life balance.
  • You’ll get involved with internal audits, lab coordination, and technical KPI trending, giving you hands-on experience across all areas of QA. You’ll also deputise for the Technical Manager, which will help you build the skills needed for your next step up.
  • The company will back your development with significant external training, including HACCP Level 3, Food Safety Level 4, and Taste Panel training. Whether you’re looking to specialise further or move into higher-level leadership, you’ll have a clear path forward.

What you’ll do

Day to day, you’ll manage a small team, keeping standards high and processes running smoothly. You’ll also act as a key point of contact across the business, working with the lab, technical team, and customers to ensure compliance with BRC and other standards.

It’s a hands-on position with plenty of variety, giving you the chance to influence quality across the entire product lifecycle.

What you’ll need

  • HACCP Level 2 and Food Safety Level 3
  • Experience in chilled food manufacturing
  • Proven track record managing QA teams in the UK food manufacturing industry
