B-Corp Gourmet Food Distributor
North West London, Salary: £40,000–£45,000 DOE + Benefits
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Working pattern: Primarily day-based, with 2 night shifts per month required
The Company
A certified B-Corp gourmet food distributor based in North West London is seeking an experienced HR Manager to join their growing team. Supplying some of the UK’s leading retailers, restaurants, and chefs, the business is dedicated to sourcing and distributing premium ingredients responsibly and sustainably.
Their mission is to create a more ethical and transparent food system — one that values people, product integrity, and environmental responsibility in equal measure.
The Role
The HR Manager will be responsible for leading all HR functions across the business, ensuring that policies, procedures, and people practices reflect the company’s values and operational needs.
Working closely with the senior management team, this individual will play a key role in supporting recruitment, employee engagement, compliance, and workforce development within a fast-paced distribution environment.
The successful candidate will also be required to work two night shifts per month to engage with the night operations team and maintain consistent HR visibility across all shifts.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and develop the HR function, ensuring compliance with UK employment law and internal policies
Support managers with recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention strategies
Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance workplace culture in line with B-Corp values
Handle employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinaries, and performance management
Maintain HR systems, ensuring accuracy and integrity of employee data
Deliver HR reports and insights to support operational and strategic decisions
Lead wellbeing and engagement initiatives across the workforce
Support workforce planning and talent development
Provide HR presence across shifts, including 2 night shifts per month
Skills & Experience Required
Minimum 5 years’ experience in HR management, ideally within food manufacturing, distribution, or operational environments
Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
Experience working with operational and warehouse teams across multiple shifts
Approachable, pragmatic, and solutions-oriented leadership style
Excellent communication and organisational skills
CIPD qualification (Level 5 or above) preferred
