Salary: £30,000–£40,000 (DOE)
Hours: 37.5 hrs/week — Mon–Thu 09:00–17:00; Fri 09:00–16:30 (30 min lunch)
Holiday: 26 days + UK bank holidays
Location: Head office in the Huntingdon area — occasional UK client visits (typically 1–2 per month)
Reports to: Commercial Director

Our Client

An established, independent manufacturer supplying major online retailers across Europe. The business is privately owned and operates from a UK manufacturing and office base. The company is ambitious and fast‑growing with a strong commitment to environmental targets and product innovation.

Role Overview

Our client are seeking a proactive, commercially minded Account Manager to take ownership of a portfolio of existing clients and to support selective key accounts. The role focuses on nurturing client relationships, achieving commercial growth from existing customers, and delivering exceptional service. You will work closely with the Commercial Director and the wider commercial and operations teams.

We are looking for a candidate with 2-3 years experience selling any type of tangible product (B2B)

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and grow an allocated portfolio of client accounts (predominantly clients with annual spend under £100k; some larger/key accounts included).
  • Deliver outstanding customer service and act as the primary client contact post‑handover from Business Development.
  • Prepare pricing, proposals and negotiate contracts, including stock‑holding agreements.
  • Plan and maintain Excel forecasts and stock plans — strong focus on peak season planning.
  • Manage day‑to‑day client administration: enquiries, orders, delivery coordination, artwork, stock updates.
  • Conduct occasional client visits for upselling, product demonstrations or problem resolution.
  • Attend regular client and internal meetings (Teams/Zoom).
  • Provide cover for the account management team during holidays and assist colleagues with client issues.
  • Respond to client communications promptly.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Experience in B2B account management or comparable client‑facing commercial role.
  • Strong commercial awareness and a track record of growing existing customer spend.
  • Excellent communicator — orally and in writing — with strong negotiation skills.
  • Highly organised with advanced Excel skills and the ability to manage forecasts.
  • Self‑motivated, proactive, and able to take ownership of client relationships.
  • Comfortable with occasional travel to client sites within the UK.

Desirable

  • Experience in packaging, manufacturing, or a related supply‑chain environment.
  • Exposure to contract pricing/stock‑holding models.
  • A commitment to sustainability and familiarity with environmental initiatives.
