An innovative and fast-growing business within the food production sector is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead and evolve its quality function across modern, high-tech facilities.
This organisation is at the forefront of sustainable FMCG work, utilising cutting-edge technology to produce fresh food in a scalable and environmentally responsible way. As they expand operations, they are now looking to strengthen their technical leadership with a dedicated quality professional.
This business is young (under 10 years old), forward-thinking, dynamic, and poses an excellent opportunity to grow in an environment thriving in a sector with a large valuation from a global bank!
The Role
The Quality Manager will take ownership of the Quality Management System and be a key driver in ensuring food safety, legal compliance, and product quality. This role will involve close collaboration across operations, technical, and supply chain functions, playing a central role in audits, continuous improvement, and the development of a quality-driven culture. You will report to a Technical Manager and work with a Technical Assistant working in tight knit Technical unit.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and maintain the site’s Quality Management System (QMS) in line with BRCGS, HACCP, and customer standards.
Lead preparation for third-party and customer audits, ensuring consistent compliance.
Monitor quality KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives across operations.
Conduct root cause analysis and manage non-conformance investigations and resolutions.
Build strong relationships across departments to embed a proactive food safety and quality culture.
Deliver internal training and support teams on quality procedures and regulatory updates.
Support innovation and new product development with robust quality input.
Ideal Candidate Profile
A strong background in quality assurance or technical management within food manufacturing, fresh produce, or FMCG.
In-depth understanding of HACCP, BRCGS, food safety, and relevant UK/EU legislation.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence and coach others.
Meticulous attention to detail, a data-driven mindset, and strong problem-solving abilities.
Able to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Degree or equivalent qualification in Food Science, Quality Management, or a related field (preferred).
