Materials Planner (MRP Planner) – Greater Manchester
Salary: £35,000–£40,000
Hours: Monday–Thursday 7:00am–3:30pm, Friday 7:00am–2:00pm
A leading UK food manufacturer is looking to recruit an experienced Materials Planner (MRP Planner) to join their busy supply chain team in Greater Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the timely availability of materials, supporting production schedules, and driving efficiencies in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain accurate inventory forecasts using production schedules, historical data, and future forecasts
Raise, schedule, and maintain purchase orders to meet production demands
Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials
Monitor stock levels and implement strategies to minimise excess or obsolete inventory
Analyse data to identify trends and support supply chain improvements
Work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to align material planning with operational goals
Produce and present inventory performance reports to stakeholders
Candidate Requirements:
3+ years’ experience in materials planning or inventory management within a manufacturing environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in data analysis and forecasting
Experience with ERP systems, ideally SAP
Excellent organisational and communication skills, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
Desirable:
APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) or equivalent
Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement
Familiarity with demand planning or inventory optimisation tools
