If “Technical” rather than “Quality”, and especially if “Group Technical” is your long-term career goal, then this would be a step in the right direction. This is a “Central” technical department role for someone with a bit of technnical or quality experience in the UK food industry, or potentially a “fresh graduate” of Food Science or Food Technology.
If you took this role, you would get the supplier assurance experience for a major chilled food group that you will need if you want to be a “Head of” in future, and you would be well-placed to take on the myriad of other technical roles that would come up across multiple sites within the company.
The day job is assessing supplier compliance and performance, interrogating the information provided by those suppliers and presenting that data in useable formats for the wider business. You would speak directly with a variety of suppliers across a number of ingredient categories, assess their compliance with company standards and maintain the raw material specification database with the relevant info. There would also be an opportunity to assist with sourcing of novel ingredients for the group's NPD projects.

If this sounds good, and you are interested in an office-based technical role as part of a friendly and enthusiastic team, then apply here and I will call you back with more info.
