Are you ready to play a key role in shaping high-quality softwood mouldings? We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to join our dedicated team, operating Weinig & Waco moulders to produce top-notch timber products that meet and exceed customer requirements. If you have a passion for precision, a positive attitude, and a flair for woodworking, this is your chance to make a significant impact!

Our client provide in-depth training, you will be working in a very clean environment that is not KPI driven and be apart of a friendly and inclusive team.

Your Role: Machinist

Key Responsibilities:
• Execute set-up and calibration procedures for all equipment, ensuring precision in every project.
• Monitor machines for malfunctions and make necessary adjustments to maintain optimal performance.
• Interpret drawings, specifications, and sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished products.
• Calculate, measure, and mark dimensions and reference points on materials for machining.
• Conduct regular maintenance on machines, equipment, and tools to ensure seamless operation.
• Manage stock inventory, anticipate needs, and order supplies to keep projects running smoothly.
• Follow the machining process from start to finish, ensuring the quality of each part meets work order standards.
• Troubleshoot machining problems during processes to ensure efficiency.
• Operate and maintain Weinig moulders and classical machinery under supervision.
• Produce accurate and high-quality customer/stock profiles according to provided drawings.
• Adhere to given timesheets, producing accurate specs of orders.
• Handle products with care to minimize damage.
• Work in compliance with Company Health and Safety standards and contribute to policy development.
• Maintain good housekeeping of the site, arranging for the removal of waste in an economic manner.

Person Specification:
• Relevant experience in machining and setting.
• Fundamental understanding of joinery construction methods.
• Positive attitude, adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Impeccable attention to detail.
• Previous knowledge and experience of working with Wood machinery or similar.
• Professional approach to colleagues, customers, and suppliers.
• Self-motivated and well-organized.
• Resilient with the ability to work in a challenging environment.
• Knowledge of health & safety regulations.
• Pro-active and self-motivated.
