Product Development Manager

I'm working with a leading food manufacturer to recruit a talented Product Development Manager who will play a key role in shaping future product ranges for major UK retailers.

The Role

As Product Development Manager, you’ll lead projects from early concept all the way through to launch, ensuring products are consumer-focused, commercially viable and operationally robust.

You will:

  • Manage NPD & NPI projects through the full concept-to-launch process

  • Work closely with chefs, category teams, commercial and customer teams

  • Drive critical paths, ensuring smooth cross-functional delivery

  • Support internal and customer-facing innovation sessions

  • Improve existing products using consumer insights and quality feedback

  • Oversee artwork approvals and compliance requirements

  • Stay ahead of food and market trends to inspire new opportunities


What We’re Looking For

  • Proven food industry experience in NPD

  • Strong project management and organisational skills

  • Confident communicator with excellent stakeholder management

  • Commercially minded with an understanding of costings and feasibility

  • Creative, curious and detail-oriented

  • Ability to lead, coach or support a small development team (depending on site)

  • Relevant food or business-related qualifications preferred
