Food Production Operative

Job description

We are looking for a Production Operative to oversee daily operations across the Cook Room, Pastry Room and De-box Area. You will ensure smooth shift starts, maintain efficient production flow, and support a team of around 10 colleagues. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys leading people, solving problems, and keeping operations running to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Kitchen Manager in the smooth running of day-to-day kitchen operations.
  • Oversee preparation, cooking, and baking activities, ensuring all products meet company standards for quality, consistency, and presentation.
  • Maintain strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and quality control procedures.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or team-leader role, ideally within food production or manufacturing.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
  • Basic IT knowledge and familiarity with production systems
