Job Title Specification Technologist
Job Purpose: To provide specification support to the QA function
Details:
Reports to: Senior Specification Technologist / TSM

Travel required Main working site will be ACE Technical Centre, Corby or hybrid but may be
required on occasion to travel to all ABM UK sites

Responsibilities Deliverable Outcomes
Key member working with the NPD and Procurement functions of the business to review, approve and integrate new suppliers and raw materials into the business and amendments of existing products/raw materials conforming with all business, customer, and legislative requirements. Liaise with suppliers regards technical information provided to allow for accurate risk assessment.
Work is completed accurately and within required timelines.
Complete all aspects of vendor questionnaires and finished product specifications to specific customer formats and requirements within agreed timescales
Accurate information completed on time.
Maintain customer data files Files are maintained on internal systems
Produce AB Mauri Finished Product Specifications and Safety Data Sheets from Hamilton Grant
Completed fully to required standard.
To provide customers with requested information relating to food safety, legality and health aspects of AB Mauri products
Customers are responded to quickly and accurately.
Communicate with relevant departments to obtain timely and accurate information for finished product specifications
Ability to communicate with key stakeholders.
Completion of Kosher and Halal product applications As required.
Maintain and update technical information within Hamilton Grant and other systems
As required.
Assist with supplier approval for packaging Completed accurately and on time.
Assist with all third-party Audits to include BRC, Kosher, Halal, Organic, Sustainable Programmes and Customer
Compliance with all audit requirements.

To actively support company Health and Safety initiatives and contribute to achieving deliverable outcomes.

Improve Safety: Contribute ideas and feedback to help enhance health and safety standards and practices in the workplace.

Essential Experience and qualifications:
One year’s experience in a specification role or in NPD / Technical Function.
Good planning and organisational skills
Attention to detail, right first-time approach.
Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple customer requirements.
Be adaptable and keep calm under pressure to meet customer/business deadlines.
Understanding principles HACCP, Food Safety, Allergen Knowledge Experience of BRC and other third-party standards, RSPO, Halal and Kosher
Enthusiastic with a strong work ethic, “can-do attitude” and be solution focused.
Desirable Experience and qualifications:
Competent in Microsoft
Experience of Hamilton Grant, Sharepoint, Formul8, Customer online systems, knowledge of legislation pertinent to food manufacturing preferably within the baking industry
Degree in Food Science or equivalent qualification.
