BASED ROTHERHAM, SOUTH YORKSHIRE

HYBRID WORKING- 3 Days in Office, 2 Days from Home

ROLE

RESPONSIBILITIES

Specification:

  • Creating, maintaining, and updating accurate product specifications (own brand & own label)

  • Maintaining customer technical online databases

  • Reviewing finished product specifications against Company global standards and customer codes of practices & policy and loading into online specification management system.

  • Keeping up to date with raw material & packaging specifications to ensure finished product specifications are correct and up to date.

  • Providing technical support on projects.

  • Supplying specification and nutritional information for product launches for packaging, food safety and intolerance data.

  • Handling customer enquiries on product recipes and the raw material they contain.

  • Capturing & updating packaging specifications, provide support and guidance cross departments on back of pack changes.

  • Writing / providing pack copy information for back of pack and artwork generation, active member for artwork approvals for both own brand own label finished products.

  • Assisting with maintaining product quality assessment system (QAS)

  • Maintaining awareness of legislative issues. Disseminating information as appropriate.

  • Placing new products onto the production system, including all relevant technical and packaging requirements, within required deadlines.

  • Managing and maintaining product quality assessment system (QAS).

Site Technical:

  • Understanding the supplier tracegains system at site

  • Completing customer SQA’s providing technical support in answering customer / consumer queries where required.

  • Allergen Risk assessment

  • Liaising with Raw materials technologist

  • Working with the site NPD team, key members of NPD handovers and capturing information to build back of pack and finished product specifications

  • Assisting with Nutiguides system where required

  • Assisting with customer visits and audit -Support Technical Team with site accreditation process

Technical Administration:

  • Completing and controlling recipes, SOPs and documentation.

  • Packaging awareness & communication to site

  • Process control documents liaising with operations teams

  • Understanding process control equipment owned by Technical Department.

  • Managing samples collections for customers and Innovation if required.

CANDIDATE

You will be a self-starter ready to work in a fast paced environment. The following is essential:

  • Experience on most on-line retailers specification systems

  • Degree in Food Science, Food Technology or a closely related discipline

  • Some experience working closely with NPD/ production team

  • Experience of technical food standards such as Food Safety and Quality standards
