Do you thrive in fast-paced operations where food quality and workplace safety are top priorities?
I am currently recruiting on behalf of a high-end food distribution business for an experienced and proactive Health & Safety Manager to join their London-based team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a key leadership role within a business known for sourcing and delivering premium food products to some of the UK’s most prestigious hotels, restaurants, and retailers. The successful candidate will take full ownership of the Health & Safety function across multiple sites, with the support of a collaborative senior leadership team.

Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, the Health & Safety Manager will be responsible for:
- Designing and implementing Health & Safety policies, procedures, and management systems across all operational locations
- Ensuring full compliance with UK Health & Safety legislation and industry standards
- Leading internal audits, workplace inspections, and reviewing risk assessments, SSOWs, and SOPs
- Investigating incidents, conducting root cause analysis, managing RIDDOR reports, and liaising with external agencies (e.g. HSE, insurers)
- Supporting teams with practical guidance and delivering tailored Health & Safety training programmes
- Analysing H&S performance data, identifying trends, and driving continuous improvement initiatives
- Reporting to senior stakeholders, including contributing to risk committee meetings
Your Skills & Experience
- NEBOSH General Certificate (Essential) – applications without this qualification will not be considered
- Proven experience in a Health & Safety leadership role, ideally within logistics, FMCG, or food environments
- Sound knowledge of UK Health & Safety law, audit processes, and accident investigation techniques
- Ability to work independently while influencing at all levels of the business
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a proactive, solutions-driven approach
Please note: Only candidates with a valid NEBOSH qualification will be considered for this role.
