Greater Manchester
£55,000 – £60,000 + Excellent Benefits
Food Manufacturing / FMCG
Are you a passionate EHS professional ready to make a real impact?
This is your opportunity to take ownership of health, safety, and environmental performance at a dynamic food manufacturing site, driving a culture where safety, wellbeing, and sustainability are truly at the heart of operations.
As Senior EHS Specialist, you’ll be the site’s go-to expert, shaping strategy, coaching teams, and embedding best practices across a fast-paced, high-compliance environment.
What You’ll Do
Champion a proactive safety culture across all site operations.
Develop, implement, and continuously improve health, safety, and environmental policies in line with UK legislation and industry standards.
Lead risk assessments, site audits, and hazard identification programmes.
Deliver engaging training and toolbox talks on topics like manual handling, fire safety, PPE, and emergency response.
Investigate incidents to root cause, implement corrective actions, and share learnings across the business.
Drive environmental management and sustainability initiatives — reducing waste and improving energy efficiency.
Produce compliance reports, liaise with regulators, and keep stakeholders informed on EHS performance.
Promote engagement through creative safety campaigns and wellbeing initiatives.
About You
NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) and strong working knowledge of UK H&S legislation — essential.
Proven experience in EHS within food manufacturing, FMCG, or other highly regulated industries.
A confident communicator with the ability to influence, coach, and inspire at every level.
Analytical and solutions-focused, with a track record of turning data and insights into action.
Experienced in leading audits, managing investigations, and driving behavioural safety improvements.
Flexible, hands-on, and passionate about creating a safe, compliant, and positive workplace.
