Ethnic Food Distributor – Nr Waltham Cross
Salary: Up to £30,000 (DOE)

A well-established and market-leading importer and distributor of ethnic food and drink products is seeking an experienced HR Assistant to join their team near Waltham Cross. With over 200 permanent staff based at their UK head office and distribution centre, the business supplies high-quality, authentic products to both retail and foodservice sectors across Europe. The Role
The HR Assistant will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the HR department. Reporting to the HR Manager, this position is ideal for someone with a strong administrative background in HR who is looking to develop their skills further within a fast-paced and culturally diverse environment. You’ll be working closely with Operations
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the first point of contact for all HR-related enquiries, providing administrative and clerical support.
- Maintain and update employee records
- Coordinate recruitment activities, including job postings, interview scheduling, onboarding, and inductions.
- Support payroll by collating relevant data such as absences, holidays, bonuses, and other adjustments.
- Ensure compliance with Right to Work checks, GDPR regulations, and internal HR policies.
- Assist in employee relations matters, such as disciplinary and grievance procedures, taking notes and preparing documentation.
- Organise and support HR projects, including meetings, training sessions, and employee surveys.
- Prepare reports and documentation relating to staffing, training, performance reviews, and other personnel activities.
Candidate Profile:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an HR administrative role or CIPD Level 3 qualification (or higher).
- Strong understanding of HR policies, procedures, and UK employment law.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and HR systems.
