Electrically Bias Engineer
Job description
Location: Northamptonshire
Hours: Monday – Friday (Days)
On-Call: One weekend in five
Industry: Food Production
My client are seeking a motivated and experienced Electrically bias Engineer to join their engineering team. This role is vital in ensuring the continuous and efficient running of their automated production processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to and promote company Health and Safety guidelines.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical and electrical equipment to maintain optimum performance.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) on component failures and drive reliability improvements.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical breakdowns.
- Participate in an on-call rota (one weekend in five).
- Ensure full compliance with food safety standards.
- Develop and execute small-scale engineering projects.
- Specify and procure replacement parts as needed.
- Manage and issue permits to control on-site contractors.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of both electrical and mechanical systems, including process control engineering.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong focus on safety, able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications.
- PLC knowledge and fabrication/welding experience are advantageous.
Education & Experience:
- City & Guilds qualified or equivalent; time-served multi-skilled engineer.
- Competent working with electrical systems up to 415V.
- Demonstrated experience in a fast-paced, multi-skilled engineering environment.
- BOAS experience is desirable
