Electrically Bias Engineer

Location: Northamptonshire
Hours: Monday – Friday (Days)
On-Call: One weekend in five
Industry: Food Production

My client are seeking a motivated and experienced Electrically bias Engineer to join their engineering team. This role is vital in ensuring the continuous and efficient running of their automated production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to and promote company Health and Safety guidelines.

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical and electrical equipment to maintain optimum performance.

  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) on component failures and drive reliability improvements.

  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical breakdowns.

  • Participate in an on-call rota (one weekend in five).

  • Ensure full compliance with food safety standards.

  • Develop and execute small-scale engineering projects.

  • Specify and procure replacement parts as needed.

  • Manage and issue permits to control on-site contractors.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of both electrical and mechanical systems, including process control engineering.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Strong focus on safety, able to work independently or as part of a team.

  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications.

  • PLC knowledge and fabrication/welding experience are advantageous.

Education & Experience:

  • City & Guilds qualified or equivalent; time-served multi-skilled engineer.

  • Competent working with electrical systems up to 415V.

  • Demonstrated experience in a fast-paced, multi-skilled engineering environment.

  • BOAS experience is desirable
