ROLE

Currently there is a small team within the business, with a number of roles/teams having (up until now) been outsourced. The Technical function has been looked after by an external consultancy company; with this they have made great strides towards achieving BRC Accreditation, but do need someone to get this over the line. They are now looking to bring the technical function in house, starting with this position, and there will be future scope to build a small team around you. This position will be responsible for all elements of Technical, including but not limited to: –
– Food safety, compliance
– Responsible for BRC and all other relevant accreditation bodies – implementation of policies and procedures, gap analysis, leading audits
– QMS Management
– Internal Audit management
– Controlling all the factory procedures i.e., traceability etc.
– Product specifications
– Set and improve strong food safety management policy and operational standards
– Supplier approval and ongoing management
– Customer point of contact and relationship management
– Provide guidance and education to Managers within the business to implement a strong food safety/quality culture

Once settled, they will look to grow this team further, with additional supporting roles.

CANDIDATE

You will need experience of implementing policies and procedures, and of leading external audits successfully. You will be able to work collaboratively with other departments, gaining buy in and able to influence stakeholders in order to develop a successful and harmonious Technical Function.
You’ll need to be flexible, pragmatic and solutions focused.

Factory hours of operation are 7am – 10pm with core office hours being 9am – 6pm. They are happy be flexible with start/finish times to accommodate your life – as long as you work 8 hours per day, and the work gets done!
