Factory Technical Manager
Reports to: Group Technical Manager
The Role
The Factory Technical Manager is responsible for the governance and strategy of the technical department.
Key Responsibilities
? Continuous improvement of site technical processes and procedures.
? To assist in leading site audits and visits as required.
? To maintain site technical risk assessments.
? To ensure completion of the site validation work including allergen and speciation.
? Identifying the department objectives and linking them to the technical strategy and business quality management system objectives.
? Setting the objectives for each team member and identifying a clear path for their development.
? Reduced raised internal and external non-conformance.
? Mentoring individuals within the technical team.
? Ensuring that manufacturing is conducted legally by remaining aware of any changes to legislation and/or guidelines and making the appropriate changes as and when necessary.
? HACCP Team Leader.
? Developing other members of the technical team so they are competent in HACCP.
? Completing supplier audits.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
? Have the ability to liaise with the site management teams.
? Ensure effective lines of communication are in place within the Technical Department.
? Pro-actively engage the Technical Management team with ideas for development.
? To have a food related degree or equivalent and to have experience in food processing.
? Retailer experience is essential, preferably with experience of several different retailers.
Skills/Personal Attributes
? HACCP Level 4.
? Extensive experience of BRC and retail audit requirements (multiple retailers).
? Sound knowledge of food legislation standards.
? Awareness of Health and Safety legislation and regulations.
? Advanced Food Hygiene Certificate.
Hours of Work
? Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm.
Other Relevant Information:
? Full driving licence would be preferred.
? The post holder must be willing to travel as and when it is required.
? On occasions there will be a requirement for the post holder to be flexible with their working hours to fit with the needs of the business.
