Job Title: Technical Compliance Manager
Location: Bedfordshire, UK
Salary: £45,000-55,000

Role Overview:
As the Technical Compliance Manager, you will ensure the business meets all food safety and quality standards, while continuously improving site standards. This role will require you to manage and develop the Quality Management System and lead customer and third-party audits. You will be a key advisor to the Operations and Engineering teams, helping to identify issues, solve problems, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide leadership for Quality & Food Safety Management Systems to ensure compliance with legal, safety, and quality standards.
• Develop systems and processes related to hygiene, food safety, pest control, allergens, and foreign body management.
• Conduct rigorous factory audits to maintain high standards.
• Lead customer and third-party audits, addressing non-conformances and ensuring ongoing compliance.
• Collaborate with Operations and Engineering to drive improvements in site standards.
• Oversee HACCP, evaluating risks and ensuring controls are in place for new processes, products, or raw materials.
• Drive a culture of Quality Assurance across the business, providing guidance and support to all teams.
• Maintain audit-ready records and systems.
• Provide holiday cover for Factory Technical Managers when required.

Qualifications & Experience:
• Minimum 5 years of experience in managing a Quality Department in the food manufacturing or food retail sector.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with Quality Management Systems.
• Strong knowledge of food production, HACCP, BRC, food law, and retailer codes of practice.
• Proven leadership and people management skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent communication skills for building relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Desirable:
• Level 3 or above in Food Safety in Manufacturing.
• Level 4 in HACCP in Food Manufacturing.
• Knowledge of bakery product production and technology.
• Health & Safety and pest control experience.
