Job Description

An excellent opportunity within a long standing food manufacturing business undergoing significant development to work alongside a dedicated Management team within the Engineering Structure.

The role will pay an annual salary of £25,000 - £30,000.
Working on a Monday to Friday basis, this role is key in the support of engineering logistics, compliance and waste management on site.


Role Purpose

The Support Engineer is responsible for ensuring the daily management of support functions for the site engineering team, i.e. stock control, compliance inspections and waste control.

To provide and deliver a robust spares availability program for the site assets.
To provide stock location optimisation ensuring the support of breakdown and planned maintenance tasks in a time efficient manner.
Involvement in routine and reactive maintenance repair work on all plant and equipment at the site, assisting in the generation of asset BOM's.
Deliver 'common use' parts listings to reduce multi-manufacturer and engineering stock holding where appropriate.
To improve plant and equipment performance, availability and cost effectiveness through the management of site engineering stock holding.
To be part of a team providing essential maintenance support, whilst maintaining Health & Safety and Food Safety Standards, abiding to GMP and food handling hygiene standards in order to provide maximum manufacturing efficiency at the Leicester site.

Duties and responsibilities:

Day to day engineering support duties to support the site engineering team ensuring adherence to Company policies, procedures and guidelines and relevant legislative regulations, i.e. waste, COSHH, GMP
Exercise accountability and responsibility through a duty of care for those activities undertaken
Conduct effective planned stock counts and generate satisfactory reports
Ensure the maintenance of a Safe & Healthy working environment
Ensure self work to current Good Manufacturing Practices at all times
To develop self to a professional standard and achieve a sound technical understanding of the site process
