Stuctural Designer, W Lothian

Job Description

Our client, one of the market leading packaging companies have notified us of an opening at their brand-new state of the art facility in West Lothian. Joining a team of 3 designers, the successful applicant will be undertaking the role of Structural designer. Predominantly, this position will be ensuring that there’s no issues for the packaging for customers, providing quotes and developing packaging from briefs.

Responsibilities
• Develop original packaging solutions using design technology and create product sample prototypes for customer review.
• Work with production and customers to troubleshoot and solve machine run ability and product development issues.
• Help with quote requests by providing technical information on packaging specifications and gain production approval of new products.
• Work with sales, customer services, commercial and production to ensure excellent communication and coordination of developments.
• To act and behave in a safe manner that ensures safety and wellbeing and that of your colleagues and complies with legislation and site safety rules.

Experience required
• 2-5 years’ work-related experience in a similar environment.
• CAD design experience essential.
• Knowledge of ESKO and CAPE Pack software would be an advantage.
• Effective communication skills both oral and written.
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Office including outlook.
• Knowledge of Adobe software would also be an advantage.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise own workload.
