Specification Technologist, Yorkshire

Job Description

Our client is a well-known and award winning business in their food manufacturing category. They are currently looking for a Specification Technologist to join the team on a permanent basis.

The role
Responsible for writing, processing and approving product specifications and interacting with suppliers and customers on technical issues relating to specification
Coordinating all information for new product specifications and transferring data into specific customer formats
Completing risk assessment information for all new products
Providing technical sign off for packaging, involving checking artwork against specification through several stages
Manage critical path for specification deadlines and ensure that specification information is correct and up to date
Maintain and update specifications when information is updated or when specifications need reviewing
Co-ordinating all information for new product specifications and transferring data into specific customer formats

Manage critical path for specification deadlines, and ensure that specification information all correct and up to date for launch
Maintain and update specifications when required

The candidate
Able to retailer portals
A good working knowledge of EU food regulations and their practical application.
A good understanding of food safety and quality principles and practices, such as GMP, HACCP, and allergen management
High level of computer literacy
Preferred but not essential to have a degree or HND in Food Technology or equivalent
One year’s experience minimum in a related role
Highly organised with good prioritisation skills
Ability to work to short deadlines and attention to detail
Drive, energy and enthusiasm
An excellent communicator, able to build relationships and be confident with customer interaction
Up-to-date knowledge of Food labelling and relevant legislation

What’s on offer?
A starting salary of up to £30,000
Working Monday – Friday office hours
