Job Title: Senior Technologist
Job Type: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 1 day a week WFH
Location: East Riding of Yorkshire
Salary: Circa £35,000
About the Role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Technologist to join our client. The successful candidate will manage their meat supply base to ensure compliance with agreed standards. This includes approving all incoming meat raw materials and ensuring they meet hygiene and manufacturing standards, as well as retailer policies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supplier approval procedures to approve raw material suppliers
• Ensure specifications are accessible to the client's sites.
• Develop and maintain strong partnerships with suppliers, providing feedback and advice, and overseeing action plans to rectify non-conformances and improve standards.
• Create, review, and approve specifications to ensure they meet legal, client, and customer standards within assigned deadlines.
• Organise and lead meetings with client sites to discuss supplier and raw material status.
• Maintain databases with all supplier approval documentation,
Candidate Requirements:
• Degree in Food Science or Relevant Experience
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience
• Proficient in cloud-based systems and Microsoft Applications.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with customers, suppliers, auditors, and various departments across all client sites.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a small team.
• Strong organizsational and time-management skills to handle various queries from customers and sites.
• Must have a full, current driving license, access to a car, and be willing to travel.
