Sales Director – UK

An opportunity has arisen for a leading global food manufacturer who supply Retail, Foodservice and Industry channels. This newly created role will manage a well-established sales division and lead the overall UK Commercial strategy.

The successful candidate will be integral in a period of exciting change for this business and will drive growth & development in line with the European Strategy.

Key responsibilities to include:

Define, Plan and Execute the sales strategy for all channels, with the objective to secure and further develop the existing business and generate growth in adjacent market segments.
Provide effective leadership for the Sales Teams and build meaningful relationships with important Key Account customers.
Define and execute Channel Strategies for UK & Ireland in line with the European Commercial Strategy and the Category Strategies.
Secure target deliveries in terms of NSV, Volume and Profit as well as expenditures in line with budgetary requirements.
Develop and use meaningful sales statistics & KPIs.
Effectively manage execution of pricing decisions and ultimately deliver profitable revenue and growth.
Meet with key customers to assist the channel sales teams, maintain strong relationships as well as support the negotiation and closing of deals when appropriate.
Develop and manage good internal network within UK and globally cross all important functions.
Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training employees together with HR; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and engaging employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems within the UK.
The successful candidate:

Essentials:

Excellent, demonstrated & inspiring leadership skills at a Senior level.
Experience working within a global/International business.
Senior sales experience within the Food industry at Head of Sales or Director level.
Ability to define, plan and execute a sales director whilst ensuring all departments are aligned.
Profound experience in Account Management and negotiations.
Strong working knowledge of the Food industry in the UK. (Ideally this will be within Food Ingredients)
Experiencing and understanding of managing the NPD process.
Desirables:

Experience with Food Ingredients. (i.e functional ingredients – Dairy, Bakery, Plant based etc)
