Based just outside of Edinburgh, the client is looking for those either stepping up from a supervisory position or already in a management role to undertake the position. Experience in a high risk environment would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
• Development and maintenance of the site HACCP, TACCP and VACCP Systems
• Development and maintenance of the site Allergen control System
• Liaise with the site NPD function to ensure that development projects are fully considered in the relevant site Food safety systems.
• Liaison with the Quality Manager & Technical Administrator to develop and deliver the site technical KPI systems on site to ensure daily, weekly and monthly reports are completed and trends are identified to drive improvements.
• Work with the site Technical Team to ensure regular reviews of site quality systems are carried out to maintain compliance with company, customer and external accreditation requirements.
• Support on non-conformance close outs to drive root cause and preventative action.
• Co-ordinate all product testing- microbiological, chemical and nutritional, compile all data and identify trends.
• Co-ordination and management of all Technical factory-based system input and administration e.g., QAD, SAP, Innova.
• Play a key role in third party and customer audits.
• Develop a trusted relationship with customers.
• Work closely with the factory Quality Manager to ensure all technical activities are being managed.
• Ensure engagement of people on site and to embed a positive food safety and HSE culture.
• To ensure the food safety, legality and quality of finished goods administration is complied with and consider technical solutions for these and to continually challenge and improve systems, and processes
Skills And Experience Required
• Previous experience within a similar Technical / Development role in a chilled food manufacturing environment
• Working experience of HACCP, BRC & retailers code of practice
• The ability to lead paper-trail segments of food safety and quality-based audits
• The ability to manage priorities and multiple projects
• A working understanding of Microsoft Office
• (desirable) Food Science degree
• (desirable) Level 3 Food Hygiene (or equivalent)
• (desirable) Level 3 HACCP
