Job Description

Our client, a highly reputable farm located in Aberdeenshire, has informed us of an opening at their site – Quality Manager. Typical responsibilities will entail – ensuring all relevant standards are adhered to a strict standard; meeting compliance for accreditation; training colleagues on the quality assurance manual and performing technical & quality system audits.

Job responsibilities

•Control the QA team, ensuring high standards of operation, meeting standards and quality needs for individual customers are continuously achieved.
•Maintaining in house quality systems and procedures so that they are all up to date and analysed so that they meet the internal requirements of the company and also external certification bodies.
•Following legislation in order to maintain accreditation with BRCGS and customer standards. Maintain consistency in quality systems to regulations and quality policies.
•Perform colleague training alongside the quality assurance manual, ensuring that training requirements are met by assuring team members of roles and responsibilities. Ensuring also that operators know how to use the online system from intake to online and dispatch.
•Aid the packhouse manager in Technical and quality systems audits from customers and third parties, dealing with customer complaints and performing full root cause analysis and then using corrective action.

Key Performance Indicators

•Quality – Customer expectations are met strictly and are monitored by maintaining or improving QSL% and CPMU.
•Traceability – Maintain full control of traceability of all products and ensuring the sites always prepared for an audit.
•Records – They’re all in date and systems fall in line with requirements and actions are put in place where needed.
•Team Management – Holding an efficient and successful QA team and communicating effectively throughout. This is judged by maintaining or decreasing staff turnover.

Key skills and behaviours

•Operational and Sales focus – Comprehensive knowledge on running an efficient and effective packhouse and how efficiency contributes to stronger overall business profitability.
•Attention to detail – Strong organisational skills to provide successful fruit quality outcomes. Must be able to identify issues instantaneously and can rectify them.
•Man Management – Solid communication skills internal and externally of the packhouse team. Holding relationships with colleagues is a necessity.

What the Job Offers

•Salary – £23,000 – £28,000
