Role Overview:
As a Quality Control Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the quality control team and ensuring the outstanding quality of fresh produce throughout the manufacturing process. Your expertise in working with fresh produce will be instrumental in upholding our client's commitment to delivering top-notch products.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct inspections of incoming fresh produce to ensure adherence to quality standards, including evaluating appearance, texture, color, and freshness.
• Collaborate with suppliers to address any quality issues, communicate expectations, and ensure compliance with quality specifications.
• Monitor the storage and handling of fresh produce to maintain its quality and prevent any spoilage or contamination.
• Assist in conducting regular audits and assessments of the manufacturing process to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with quality control procedures.
• Collect and analyze data on quality control measures, including product samples, test results, and production records.
• Collaborate closely with the Quality Control Manager to implement corrective actions and preventive measures based on quality control findings.
• Assist in managing documentation related to quality control, such as maintaining records of inspections, audits, and corrective actions taken.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to fresh produce quality control.
Qualifications and Skills:
• High school diploma or equivalent required. A degree or certification in food science, agriculture, or a related field is preferred.
• Proven experience working with fresh produce in a quality control or similar role within the food manufacturing industry.
• In-depth knowledge of fresh produce quality standards, industry regulations, and best practices.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately assess and evaluate the quality of fresh produce.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with suppliers, internal teams, and other stakeholders.
• Proficiency in collecting and analyzing data, including basic statistical analysis.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with quality control tools, software, and equipment is a plus.
