ROLE
Purpose
To produce food products that are safe, legal, authentic and the correct quality and integrity by managing the most cost effective operations.
Key responsibilities:
• Responsible for all aspects of the production and warehouse facility and its day to day operation.
• Ensure the product is packed and available at the required delivery times.
• Manage Production Team and assist in maintaining good level of Occupational Health & Safety.
• Arrange and ensure that each shift is adequately staffed according to the business needs.
• Ensure that staff are working efficiently to obtain optimum throughput and to reach set targets.
• Ensure that down time is kept to a minimum by monitoring change over times and time taken to supply raw materials.
• Develop a continuous improvement culture within the area of responsibility.
• Development and training of staff in process and packing.
• Agree production plans and implement those plans in the most efficient way possible.
• Ensure correct standards and conditions are in place to produce safe, authentic products of the required quality.
• Monitor ingredient and packaging stock levels.
• Ensure that product/ production practices comply with legislation, customer requirements, BRC, as well as Company standards and respond to /deal with any reported raw material, finished product, traded goods or packaging issues.
• Ensure all due diligence records/documents are completed, up to date, filed and well maintained.
• Manage PPM and cleaning to the required schedules.
• Dealing with any non-conformances regarding Pest, Security, Quality, Food Safety and Integrity issues and other relevant issues, involving the Technical Manager where necessary.
• Responsibility for Health & Safety of themselves and others in area.
• Any other task as required for continuous improvement of Food Safety, Integrity, Quality, Health & Safety and Legality.
CANDIDATE
You will have a proven track record in people management within a manufacturing environment. Food experience is not essential. You will have the necessary gravitas to lead by example, while working closely with the Site Operations Manager and Production Supervisor.
