Job Description

My client is a producer of artisan delicious products. Multiple award winners and their produce are recognised for their quality, sustainability, and taste.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Production Manager to join their team.

Due to their location, applicants must have their own transport.

In this role, your key responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing the day-to-day running of the production lines, ensuring production targets are met and all product is manufactured to the correct recipe and specification.
• Manage production staff and develop these employees and enhance productivity through training, communication and strong leadership. Also ensure manpower is being utilised efficiently.
• Drive through and maintain a food safety culture and encourage continuous improvement within the production team with an emphasis on high standards.
• Maintain a safe working environment, and report all accidents, incidents or near misses in accordance with Company procedures.
• Implement health and safety policy within the production area and assist with periodic reviews of policies and risk assessments for the production area and undertake risk assessments for any new tasks when required.
• Ensure a clean and tidy work environment.
• Regular communication and close working with senior management to help achieve company objectives.
• Work with Technical Manager to ensure compliance with all government regulatory agencies particularly to ensure HACCP and Environmental Hygiene programs are properly followed.
• Work with the Technical Manager to ensure compliance with quality assurance standards such as SALSA or BRC including periodic audits.
• Work with the Technical Manager for analysis of test results.
• Work with maintenance engineers and promptly arrange for any repairs and maintenance as required.
• Ensuring the proper performance of the following production tasks whether by directly implementing or delegating tasks appropriately
• Work with the Office Manager and Operations Supervisor to generate accurate production schedules based on forecasted and/or actual orders.
• Overseeing the manufacture and packing of products
• Ensuring compliance with the cleaning procedures and completing and logging records of compliance
• Checking all production records are completed fully
• Ensuring a high standard of presentation of all products
• Taking a regular stock check of all ingredients, consumables and packaging and requisitioning purchases as and when necessary
• Ensuring all staff and visitors to the production areas adhere to all HACCP requirements
• Line management of production staff including induction, training, and ensuring compliance by staff with all policies and procedures. Dealing with disciplinary issues and grievances in accordance with Company procedures

Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required:

Experienced at the Management level within food manufacturing, with Food Hygiene Accreditation.
Results driven to achieve KPI’s.
Track record of delivering a high standard of work to agreed deadlines and an ability to work under pressure
Quality Assurance focused
Good written and verbal communication
HACCP trained
Good understanding and experience of BRC/Salsa requirements

What’s of offer?

A salary of between £30,000 – £40,000
