Product Developer - Chilled Desserts, South East England

Job Description

Are you passionate about creating delectable desserts that tantalise taste buds and delight consumers? Do you have a creative flair and an innovative mindset? My client is seeking a talented and motivated Product Developer to join their dynamic team in crafting irresistible chilled desserts that bring joy to every bite.

Duties and Key Responsibilities:
• Leading the development of new and innovative products from translation of the customers brief through to implementation in the factory.
• Present products to internal stakeholders and to the customers at submission meetings.
• Input recipes into the recipe management system and assess the cost, nutritional’s and allergens against the brief.
• Complete product submission forms for all products as requested by the customer.
• Contributing to regular brainstorming and development sessions.
• Request new raw materials from suppliers ensuring they meet quality, allergy, cost and customer requirements and input them into the recipe management system.
• Set up and organise product bench marking sessions.
• Provide recipes to the process technologist for trials.
• Attend and contribute to weekly NPD meetings.
• To carry out any other duties as required by the needs of the company.

About you:
• Passion for food with 3 years + experience in the food industry within NPD and manufacturing.
• Previous experience in chilled desserts desirable.
• Experience working with retailers.
• Ability to build good relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a large range of customers.
• Self-motivated, enthusiastic and quick to learn.
• Good commercial acumen, understanding of commercials when developing products.
• Computer literate with good knowledge of Microsoft office, especially excel.
• Strong attention to detail.
• This is a customer facing role so good communication skills are essential.
