Job Description

Are you a Process Technologist/NPD professional with a few years of experience working within the food manufacturing industry?

If so, I have a great opportunity with a UK category leading food manufacturer as a Process Technologist at their factory site in the Northeast.
The role is responsible for the successful scale up and validation of NPD and EPD products into the factory following test kitchen approval, supported by the relevant site functions.

Project manage each product launch to a critical path, with the ability to make informed decisions, be analytical and to communicate to all levels including Operatives and the Customer

Works with passion and pride always, demonstrating this through results and in-depth knowledge of food and site processes.
Ownership, co-ordination, and communication of activity from the Handover from NPD through to launch. This includes all NPD, EPD, Transfer Projects and VAVE (value adding, value engineering).

Provides leadership, technical expertise and mentoring to the R&D, Purchasing, Operational and Technical team

The candidate:
Experience of working and supporting an R&D function within the baking sector at a site based technical, R&D, or operational role.
Has the ability to challenge and confidence to prioritise and know when to ask for help in a timely manner.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage several projects simultaneously within agreed time limits.
Experience of operating at a level within an organisation, where strategic development and planning have been required and demonstrated.
Demonstrable record of achievement on delivering projects within an R&D function
Conducted industrial size trials, collection of data and reporting of results.
Working in a cross functional team
Knowledge of project management.
A thorough understanding of food safety processes and procedures, including a working knowledge of HACCP.
Exemplary written and oral communication skills.
Proficient IT skills in all applications.

Desirable
Educated to Degree / HND level in Food Science / Food technology or related subject.
