Process engineering manager
I am working with an exceptional client of mine who are established across the U.K and have become a household name for all. With a revenue just short of £3 billion in 2020 they are one of the leaders within this industry. An opportunity has arisen within engineering as my client look to bring on a process engineering manager to lead the full department. The position will have full autonomy and the successful candidate with have a specific focus on safety, quality, efficiency and sustainable cost reduction
Salary: £70,000 + bonus + car allowance
Pension: Up to 9.2%
Holidays: 26 days holiday
Responsible for the safety of the refinery shift teams and driving improvements in safety performance
Ownership of appropriate Health and Safety Management system or systems.
Manage the Refinery Shift Managers, Supervisors and crew teams to ensure safe, efficient and consistent operations
Drive a continuous improvement mindset and work with the CI Manager to generate improvement projects and to complete root cause analysis as appropriate.
Via the shift teams manage process operation, shutdown and start-up to optimise operational costs
Develop process performance measures to control and optimise all aspects of process operations including production output, yield, energy, water and compressed air usage.
Control and optimise Recovery, sewer and chemical sucrose losses, and minimise product recycle and reprocessing costs
Develop and implement appropriate Capital Investment projects (safety, cost reduction, sustaining etc.)
With the Plant Manager, develop and manage operational budgets (labour, utilities, chemicals etc.), using cost control measures and reporting against the operating plan monthly
Develop organisation and personnel consistent with the business needs including succession planning, Graduate Engineer recruitment and development
Agree release of plant with site engineering and assist with prioritization of maintenance
Experience of managing large operational teams in a manufacturing environment.
Experienced in managing complex budgets.
Experienced in managing aspects of Safety, Hygiene, Environment and Quality.
Graduate in Chemical Engineering, ideally Chartered, with experience in process modelling and optimisation via use of energy and mass balances.
