Packing Area Supervisor, Midlothian
Job Description
Our client, one of the market leading award-winning FMCG manufacturers in the UK, has notified us of an opening at their site in Edinburgh. They're in search of a production supervisor with excellent man management traits and exposure to leading teams on a production line. This will be based at their site in Edinburgh supervising a team of circa 20 operators. If you're looking for a role with an exciting renowned company its sector, this is the one for you.
Roles and Responsibilities
Ensure GMPs are followed by the line members, keeping clean at all times
Adhere strictly to company standards and the established H&S procedures
Understand the flow of work through the machines to despatch area
Understand how to operate the equipment in the packing area
Train and instruct the line members to promote safety, spirit, quality and productivity
Oversee the resources, Stock Control and traceability systems
Efficiently find the most effect way to pack products for the day and suggest new ways to increase packing efficiency
Enthuse continuous improvement throughout the line and review the packing team where necessary
Key Skills
Experience in supervising manufacturing/production lines
Demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills and time management skills
Understanding of food processing standards, BRC and hygiene regulations
A flexible personality being able to adapt in situations
Understanding of HACCP, GMPs, organic handling procedures, allergen, glass and hard plastic controls
