Due to year on year expansion, my client based in the Isle of Mull is now looking for an Operations Manager for their business.
Reporting to the owner of the business, the Operations Manager will have the responsibility for the management of the operations assets, personnel and the running of the facility.
We are looking for somebody to who has the hunger to drive, succeed and take ownership of the site and, run it in a manner that meets the commercial requirements of the individual business unit. Whilst maximizing efficiency, service, quality, health and safety on a best cost framework.
The Operations Manager will be responsible for the achievement of agreed budget (as defined e.g. manufacturing costs) whilst continually striving for greater efficiency. This will require you to develop a site structure which enables the production (and delivery) of feed of consistently satisfactory quality and the requirements of health and safety and environmental legislation / policy to be met at minimum cost.
Using your past experience you will lead, team build and empower the skills of individual managers to maximize finished product quality standards and consistency. You will be the need to establish good communication lines with other business group functions to understand and ensure customer expectations are met.
Champion the Continuous Improvement Programme and encourage a culture of engagement across the team and Implement the capital projects for the site which will include the following:
• Ensure an adequate maintenance programme is devised and implemented.
• Maintain HACCP systems to Company requirements.
• Manage the distribution assets and team to ensure performance target and budgets are achieved.
• Manufacturing methods
• Manage the site stock control and variances
• H&S responsibilities
• BRC or equivalent standards of operation
• Work force upskilling
• Report generation and data interpretation
• People performance processes
Ambient experience preferred and relocation is a essential due to the location or be within commuting distance from the mainland ferry
