The Role:
On receipt of project brief, work with cross-functional team to agree detail of design specification and critical path
Request ingredient samples and review specifications and safety data sheets
Concept recipe development
Use recipe management system to raise pilot plant recipes and costing requests
Liaise with pilot plant and application teams to scale-up and test concept products
Liaise with product, project, process, purchasing, finance, operational, commercial, and quality teams as required, to develop simply clever food, which is delicious, functional, safe, and commercially viable, and to drive projects to agreed timelines
Liaise with suppliers to find solutions to technical and development challenges
Contribute and participate in gate and project meetings
Collate feedback and lead on any further development until sign-off gates
Handover project to factory process lead
The Person:
Experience working within an NPD technologist role in the food industry.
Understanding of HACCP Principles and suitably qualified (Level 3 minimum)
Good written and verbal communication skills
Computer literate in all aspects of Microsoft Office
Food Hygiene Qualified
