Are you looking for a new NPD Manager Role?

We are seeking a talented Development Manager to oversee the end-to-end delivery of development projects, from concept to launch, while meeting agreed timelines and commercial targets. In this role, you will coach and develop the team, ensuring they reach their maximum potential while delivering projects on time and within budget. You will drive market-driven product development, incorporating relevant trends to exceed customer expectations. Additionally, you will continuously seek improvement and cost reduction to maximize operational, commercial, and customer value. Adherence to agreed processes for product development and delivery is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

– Take a lead role in managing customer innovation and renovation projects for both brand and private label.
– Own and drive critical paths, manage customer communication, and ensure seamless concept-to-launch execution with the development team.
– Prioritize workload and provide support to the NPD team, ensuring timely and budgeted project delivery.
– Develop innovative, commercially viable products aligned with business strategy and customer needs.
– Maintain a deep understanding of food trends, market insights, and competitor activities in collaboration with the Marketing and Insight teams.
– Source new and innovative raw materials, explore new suppliers, and visit exhibitions to capture ideas and present them to the commercial team.
– Review packaging options, collaborate with packing buyers and suppliers to explore design, format, and innovation opportunities.
– Continuously develop your own and the team's knowledge of the specified product range, as well as origin suppliers, product varieties, and seasonal dynamics.
– Understand factory equipment, processes, and limitations to ensure their consideration in new product development.
– Provide strategic input to the development and implementation of new manufacturing processes, in conjunction with the Commercial and Production teams.
– Provide direction and leadership to maintain a focused, motivated, and cohesive team, creating a positive and safe working environment.
– Uphold standards for product safety, legality, traceability, quality, hygiene, and housekeeping.
– Build strong relationships with all departments within the company.

Requirements:

– Broad customer knowledge
– Graduate calibre with a food relevant degree or equivalent qualification
– Structured, organized, and skilled in project management
– Confident customer-facing skills to build positive working relationships
– Ability to work autonomously and within a team
– Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
– Excellent oral and written communication skills
– Understanding of health/nutritional/dietary benefits of products
– Experience in managing, leading, and developing teams
– Proficient presenter across all levels, both internally and externally
– Ability to work effectively within strict cost and time parameters
– Demonstrated ability to influence, make decisions, and manage ambiguity in a fast-paced, changing environment
– Passionate about food with great culinary knowledge
– Flexible to travel and attend launches outside normal office hours
– Full UK driving license
