Our client is a successful food manufacturer with an exciting and innovative product range. The business is very dynamic and they are experiencing excellent growth, supplying quality food products to major retailers UK wide.

In partnership we are seeking a Product Development Manager to join their business in Scotland.

You will lead the business NPD agenda to deliver end to end ownership of NPD, product renovation, process Improvement and capability development. Drive a culture of engagement and collaboration across functions to deliver the business agenda through strong project management and open dialogue. Work closely with the Head of Commercial to deliver successful conversion of concepts to launch. Ensure customer and business expectations are met in full regarding compliance on food safety, legality and quality.

The role
Delivery of the NPD launch programme on time in full.
Drive a culture of excellence in execution of new product launches through cross functional engagement.
Work closely with the Head of Commercial on the shape and scope of the overall plan and ensure that projects transition smoothly from concept to market.
Drive continuous improvement in quality and consistency through process improvement and through controls implemented within the NPD cycle.
Build and drive strong relationships in key customer accounts.
Clearly allocate / delegate tasks for critical paths within the NPD plan, driving a culture of pace, accountability and collective delivery.
Be a champion of product quality.
Stay abreast of latest food trends

The candidate
Extensive food manufacturing development experience
Energetic and enthusiasm. All candidates must have a love for this career path
Passion for food & food development
Experience in a UK multiple retail environment
Able to travel to customers across the UK (e.g., for meetings & product submissions)
Strategic thinking – ability to think about the short term & long term requirements & priorities for the business
