ROLE
Overview
Reporting into the Compliance Manager, Quality Auditor (QA) is responsible for driving compliance to food safety and championing quality standards through delivery of training, completion of competency assessments and internal audits. They are also responsible for auditing the Quality Management System (QMS).
Main Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the delivery of site food safety as a member of and in conjunction with the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) team. Change to deputise.
• Responsible for completion of ingredients and packaging validation and verification to assure safety, quality and therefore line performance. Timely reporting of any deviation from standard to the Quality Manager.
• Contributing towards creation of product quality standards.
• Responsible for taste panel forums to drive product optimisation.
• Responsible for the delivery of food safety and quality training.
• Support production to maintain required process control verifications.
• Responsible for setting Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards and driving Production Team accountability for maintenance of good housekeeping.
• Responsible for hosting third party pest control inspections.
• Responsible for addressing any food safety and quality challenges through Short Interval Control (SIC) meetings as required to driving improvements.
• Responsible for auditing to Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), schedule and checklist on time in full, identify improvement opportunities within line food safety and quality. All actions must be closed within an appropriately defined timescale.
• Responsible for non-conformance troubleshooting to root cause.
• Responsible for internal and external calibrations as per the defined schedule and SOP.
• Responsible for adherence to microbiological testing schedule, based on risk assessment, on time in full.
• Responsible for product shelf life sampling as required and support monthly end of life analysis.
• Contributing to trials and projects, delivering outcomes in agreement with project owner.
CANDIDATE
Educated to HNC/HND, preferably in food technology or related discipline.
Food Hygiene qualification
Competent auditor with Food or Drink Manufacturing experience
Proficient IT skills, such as Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Excel
Confidence to challenge the status quo

(£24K-£31K + 16% Shift Allowance £27,840-£35,690)
