Job Description

Technical Assistant: North East Scotland

Main purpose of the role:
•To supervise the Quality Assurance team at site ensuring food safety and quality technical standards are achieved
•To support and provide guidance to operation teams to ensure Best Practice standards are being achieved and the site is audit ready
•To drive quality standards within the production function aiding the reduction of customer complaints

Main accountabilities:
•Embed process control and technical standards within the production and technical functions.
•Manage QA team ensuring all audits are completed as per schedule, and provide support where required.
•Carry out site hygiene audits out with factory working hours working to a detailed schedule.
•Cover QA/QA Assessor during periods of absence.
•Manage taste panel and quality assistant team ensuring that all products are assessed against documented, up to date, quality attribute sheets. Manage the release process ensuring finished goods are released within the expected timescales.
•Support the investigation and resolution of non-conformances, including those related to product, process, internal and external audits.
•Identify and solve issues using root cause analysis and drive commonality between sites.
•Attend site meetings as required and cover for Site Quality Manager during holiday periods
•Support site audits from customers and external auditing bodies.
•Support Site QA manager in driving improvements within the Technical Function.
•Support and develop the Quality Assurance team, provide monthly one to one reviews with clear objectives, manage holidays, return to works and TMS.
