My client, is a leading UK processor providing, branded and retailer branded products are looking for an NPD Technologist who will be involved in the effective management of development projects, from concept approval through to factory launch. Working with cross functional teams to implement development plans to cost and timescale.
To ensure customer and site expectations are met, ensuring conformance in the terms of food quality, hygiene, safety, legality and quality.
•Plan and organise the delivery of products/projects to the quality and timescale agreed by the business and with the customers. Ensuring open and timely communication across the business through up-dates and meetings as required
•Ensure product/project documentation is accurate and up-to-date and in accordance with business procedures. As required product/project details are to be presented to site management and/or customers clearly and factually.
•Organise and conduct factory and pre-production trials in accordance with business procedure and as required by customers. Interface with customers will be mainly during such trials. Document all relevant information and produce trial reports. This work to be done in close conjunction with the Operational and Technical functions of the business.
•Ensure all paperwork is completed to enable artwork to be generated and specifications to be written including shelf life data, nutritional data, raw material specs, recipe and weight.
•Liaise with site Procurement and Management Accounts to ensure full knowledge of raw materials, ingredients and packaging are provided.
Provide Management Accounts details of yields and through-puts from factory trails.
Prepare and send out, as required by the business, product samples. Ensuring all samples have the relevant paperwork (date code, cooking instructions).
•Keep abreast of food trends within the seafood and wider industry
Skills and Experience Required
•Minimum HND in a food related discipline
•Creative and innovative approach to problem solving
•Knowledge of production and technical processes
•Methodical hands on approach
•Ability to interpret and evaluate numerical data
•Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to build relationships at all levels
